Even if they were returned to life, they would still persist in disbelief. Their statement is not sincere — it is only driven by fear and despair :
“They will say, ‘If only we could be sent back, we would not reject the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.’”
Ya laytana nuraddu wa laa nukazzibu bi-āyāti rabbina wa nakūnu minal-mu’minīn.
